Say you're not dating anyone exclusively, but you are dating one or more people on a regular basis . If girlfriend / boyfriend is for uhhh when you're "going steady" . - Feeling miserable after breaking up Last night, I ended things with my boyfriend.Since then, I haven't stopped crying and I've vomited multiple times.I would like to know that he isn’t sleeping with anyone else and won’t be sleeping with anyone else while we are sleeping together.Should I have the “defining the relationship” conversation with him or should I wait and allow things to evolve more?He tells me to please be patient, that he’s never been with a woman like me, one who trusts and loves unconditionally and makes him feel good when he’s with me, yet he says he’s not with me with the whole girlfriend/boyfriend thing!I don’t know if I should wait and see, since what we have is basically the committed relationship – until he made the comment that I m not his girlfriend, everything was great. Even his friends address me as his girlfriend and he doesn’t correct them, so why can’t he say the words to me? –Kris If he’s acting like a boyfriend, what’s the harm of calling you his girlfriend? And I can understand why it’s mystifying and why you’d be tempted to run.
Basically though, I was blindsided the other day because after everything, he said that I am not his “girlfriend” and he doesn’t want the expectations that come with the title.
Our chemistry was immediate (physical, intellectual, and emotional) and things have been very easy so far. I am totally comfortable with the speed (how often we are communicating, seeing each other, and sharing information about ourselves).
But, we recently slept together (it felt right and was great).
We see each other about once a week now and have communicated daily for the past month. He has a right to know, so i was open and honest about it. We are not dating or being intimate with other people. We agreed to keep moving forward and said that if one of us meets someone else that we are intersted in, we will discuss it immediately (would terminate our dating most likely).
Just last week we had a really long talk about a lot of things, it was really nice to be able to talk so freely. Not only was he understanding, he's been there, with his most recent ex. Also, if one of us begins to have stronger feelings for the other and wants a greater commitment, we'll communicate that.
